Malin The Troll - Commemorative T Shirt
Malin was an 18-foot-tall wooden troll sculpture created by Danish recycling artist Thomas Dambo in Austin's Pease Park. Unveiled in March 2024, she was a beloved community guardian holding a metal bowl intended to be filled with fresh water for local wildlife. Malin tragically burned down in May 2026. The Artist and the Concept - Malin was part of a global project featuring over 120 of Thomas Dambo's signature giant trolls scattered across five continents. True to the artist's mission, she was made from over 80% recycled, repurposed, and found materials. Her hair was constructed from local cedar roots, her necklace was formed from natural rocks and wood gathered by locals, and her body was built from wood sourced from a decommissioned water tower at the University of Texas at Austin.
